I was born in Glasgow, studied textile design, and moved to London in January 1979 to begin my first career-based job. Unfortunately, this position turned out to be short-lived, and after only four months, found myself job-hunting once again, this time without success.

After a series of casual jobs, I embarked upon an intensive, one-year graphic design course at the London College of Printing, which, fortunately, paved the way for a lucrative and sustainable career in publishing, designing magazines and books. That was twenty-five years ago.

Since then I have held four full-time positions over a five-year period, with the remaining twenty spent in a self-employed capacity. Somewhere in between, I trained as an opera singer, and still perform regularly today at various venues on a non-professional basis.

During the unrelenting recession of the early 1990s, I was seriously looking to develop new skills and add another string to my bow, in order to acquire a much-needed second source of income. By chance, I found exactly what I was looking for nearly ten years later, during my membership at a business networking group. I became inspired after talking to the career and business coach at our weekly meetings, and later, other coaches in similar organisations. One day, for reasons I still cannot quite comprehend, the words, 'coaching...this is something I would be really good at' shot into my head. Not long after that, I set about finding myself a compatible life coach, and later, a suitable coaching training course.

The time I spent as a coaching client was one of the best and most rewarding experiences I have ever encountered. Whole areas of my life, ranging from business and career, to personal and recreational, were completely turned around in twenty sessions. Today I strive to pass on to my clients the gift of that same rewarding, life-changing experience, through instilling confidence and helping them to see the bigger picture.
